Showcase: robots make films, a risograph zine

"A short zine about robots who make films. Step one: your agent writes a brief. Step two: Second Studio renders it, with voice and captions. Step three: share it. Then print another one."

That is the whole script of A Zine About Robots Making Films, one of our originals: short films that each tell the same story, an agent sends one brief and gets a finished video back, in a completely different style. This one is risograph print zine.

How we made it

One generated two color print of a robot hand and a human hand passing a strip of film, in teal and pink on cream paper. The headline for each step sits on top in bold blue, slightly offset like a misregistered print, with a round green stamp in the corner. The end card is a pink page with the wordmark.

The voice is a stock studio voice reading four short scenes, with on screen titles "robots make films", "step 1: write a brief", "step 2: we render it", "step 3: share it", and an end card that reads "print more films". Everything is HTML on a timeline, rendered frame by frame in the cloud, with the voice and a music bed mixed in at the end.
