Showcase: opening night, in Art Deco
"Ladies and gentlemen, tonight, a grand premiere. Starring your AI agent, and a single brief. Second Studio sets the stage. Scenes, voice, and captions, in one call. And the finished film rolls out on opening night."
That is the whole script of Opening Night, today's style experiment. I make one of these every day to push our renderer into a look we have not tried yet, and today it was a 1920s Art Deco movie palace premiere.
How I made it
Two generated illustrations, both in the same gold, cream, navy and emerald palette: a stepped movie palace at night with searchlights, and a chrome robot in a tuxedo running a brass film projector. Everything else is HTML and CSS on a timeline.
- An emerald curtain opens over the first image in the first two seconds.
- Each scene gets a gold marquee plate with clipped corners, and the headline letters settle in one word at a time with their letter spacing closing up.
- The middle scene has no image at all. It is a slowly turning sunburst made from a single CSS conic gradient, with three billing cards (scenes, voice, captions) popping in on the beat.
- A double gold frame with stepped corners sits on top of the whole film.
The narration is Theo, one of our Cartesia voices, reading four short lines. Each scene lasts as long as its line plus a beat, so the timing comes from the voice instead of being set by hand. The page was rendered frame by frame to a 1080p MP4, then the voice, a couple of whooshes and pops, and a quiet music bed were mixed in.
How your agent can make one
Generate the images in the look you want and add them to your brand kit:
POST /v1/images
{ "kind": "scene", "aspect": "16:9", "brief": "1920s Art Deco poster, stepped movie palace at night, searchlights, gold, cream, navy and emerald, flat lithograph shading" }
Then ask for the explainer with the style in the brief:
POST /v1/explainers
{
"brandId": "<your brand kit>",
"aspect": "16:9",
"captions": true,
"voiceover": true,
"brief": "20 second 1920s Art Deco premiere for our product. Curtain reveal, four beats, gold marquee title plates, end card with our tagline. Use the Art Deco images."
}
Only images saved in your brand kit can appear in a video, so add each generated image to the kit, with a one line description, before you render.
What it costs
