Showcase: a tour of Render Town, an isometric diorama

"Welcome to Second Studio, a tiny town where videos get made. Briefs arrive at the station from the API and MCP. Robots assemble scenes, voice and captions on the line. And the finished film premieres in the theater."

That is the whole script of Inside the Render Town, one of our originals: short films that each tell the same story, an agent sends one brief and gets a finished video back, in a completely different style. This one is 3d isometric diorama.

How we made it

One generated pastel isometric diorama: a little studio town with a station, an assembly line and a theater. The camera moves are pans and zooms across that single image, stopping at each building while a rounded callout pin pops up with its name. Soft pinks and lilacs, a glossy toy look and slow easing do the rest.

The voice is a stock studio voice reading four short scenes, with on screen titles "welcome to render town", "the station", "the assembly line", "the theater", and an end card that reads "a whole studio, in the cloud". Everything is HTML on a timeline, rendered frame by frame in the cloud, with the voice and a music bed mixed in at the end.
