Five client variants from one reference video

Every agency brief I have seen includes some version of "make it feel like this one". The client sends a video they love and a drive of raw footage. The hard part is not the cutting, it is getting the rhythm, caption look and hook of the reference right, and then doing it again for the next three variants.

Style matching was built for exactly that request. Here is how I would run it for an agency.

Measure the reference once

Upload the reference and analyze it. Cut points, shot lengths, how cuts sit against the beat, caption position and weight, and how the first second hooks the viewer are measured from the file.

POST /v1/styles
{ "assetId": "<client reference>", "semantic": true }

The style keeps numbers and descriptions only, never the reference's pixels or audio. You can delete the reference afterwards and keep the style for that client. Analysis is 2 credits, paid once.

Cut the first variant

POST /v1/edits
{
  "styleId": "<style>",
  "clipAssetIds": ["<clip 1>", "<clip 2>", "<clip 3>", "<clip 4>"],
  "musicAssetId": "<licensed track>",
  "captions": ["The hook line goes first", "Second line", "Third line"],
  "aspect": "9:16",
  "duration": 20
}

Each shot in the reference becomes a slot. Each slot gets the moment from the client's footage that fits its role, cuts snap to the beat of the track you supply, and footage that does not match the frame shape is never cropped. The job also returns a plan file showing which clip and in point filled every slot, which is useful when the client asks why a shot was chosen.

Make the variants

Change the captions, the music or the clip set and run the edit again. Five edits at 5 credits each is 25 credits, plus the 2 credit analysis, so 27 credits for five approval cuts. If you need a 4:5 feed version, pass a different aspect to the same style.

Keep clients separate

Every person at the agency gets their own key, brand kits and styles are shared and attributed, and spend caps are checked before a job starts. That is the teams and spend feature, and seats are free.

If this is your workflow, the agencies page has more, or get started.
