Short product videos for an online store
If you sell physical products online, you already have the raw material for video: product photos, maybe a few phone clips of the item in use, and a listing description. What you usually do not have is someone to cut a fifteen second vertical video for every SKU. This is a walkthrough of how I would set that up. The product here is a made up ceramic mug.
Give every product a few scenes
Start with the photos you have. If you need lifestyle shots that do not exist yet, generate them using the real product photo as a reference so the item stays recognizable.
POST /v1/images
{
"kind": "scene",
"brief": "The mug on a wooden table by a window, morning light, steam rising, shallow depth of field",
"references": ["<product photo asset>"],
"aspect": "9:16",
"n": 3
}
Each image is 4 credits at 1K or 2K, so three scenes is 12. Pass estimate: true first if you want the price before anything runs. If you only need to change part of a real photo, like the background, a masked photo edit leaves everything outside the mask alone.
Pick a style that already sells
Find a short product video whose pacing you like, from your own account or one you admire, and analyze it once for 2 credits. That style is reusable for every product in the catalog.
Cut each product
POST /v1/edits
{
"styleId": "<style>",
"clipAssetIds": ["<phone clip>", "<scene 1>", "<scene 2>", "<scene 3>"],
"brief": "Handmade stoneware mug, holds 12 oz, dishwasher safe",
"aspect": "9:16",
"duration": 15
}
When you leave out captions, they are written from the brief in the voice of the reference. Each edit is 5 credits.
Cost per product
Three generated scenes (12) plus one edit (5) is 17 credits per product, or about $1.70 on the starter pack. If you already have enough photos and clips, it is 5 credits per product plus the one time style analysis. Larger packs add bonus credits: 550 for $50 and 1,200 for $100.
Where an agent fits
Because each step is an API call, a catalog agent can watch for new listings, assemble the assets and run the edit, then draft a post for a person to approve. Nothing publishes without that approval.
