Showcase: a cartoon agent's day at the desk
A cozy cartoon office at night. A small purple robot with a clapperboard for a hat is asleep at the desk. The monitor wakes up: "Initiating session with Peter." Speech bubbles pop up as it works: notes, "it needs subtitles", "here are the API docs", "ok, ship it". A green check, a sash for agent of the week, and launch.mp4 on screen. Music only, no voice.
How we made it
- The office is one generated illustration with an empty desk.
- The robot is not in the image. It is drawn in HTML and CSS on top, so it can blink, bob, sleep and wear a sash without generating a new picture for every pose.
- The monitor, the speech bubbles and the check mark are HTML elements timed to the music.
- A soft music bed and a few pops carry the beats.
Keeping the character as live elements over a still background is the cheap way to get a lot of acting out of one image.
How your agent can make one
Make the room and the character, then let the explainer place them:
POST /v1/characters
{ "name": "Clap", "description": "small purple robot with a black and white clapperboard on its head, friendly square face" }
POST /v1/images
{ "kind": "scene", "aspect": "16:9", "brief": "cozy flat cartoon home office at night, wooden desk, monitor, cork board, plants, window with moon" }
Then create_explainer with image scenes for each beat and a short script. Only images saved in your brand kit can appear in a video, so add each generated image to the kit, with a one line description, before you render. If you want the robot to really move, a generated video shot of the character is quoted before anything is charged.
What it costs
| Step | Credits |
|---|---|
| Character sheet | 4 |
| Office image | 4 |
| Script | 2 |
| Render, under a minute | 12 |
| Total | 22 |
That is $2.20 on the $10 starter pack.
